omg, hyphens.

That's an automatic 5 stars!

Actually though, good job. You seem to be improving your transitions here and your progression is very 'heavenly'. I'm giving 5 stars for the progress you're making, you're clearly picking up new ideas as you make more and more songs.

Thanks! I fell in love with this song while I was making it, so I downloaded the song myself and looped it while I played Agar.io! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

When you bring the min depth above the max depth, keep in mind these are parameters for sine function (like the preset in the first generator of the 3xOsc). You could achieve the same result by adding a 180 degree phase shift to that wave. Lets say your min depth=0.8 and your max depth=0.2, your output will have a certain sound that will tend to repeat itself over some period of time given by 1/(sweep frequency * 2). The 2 can also be a 10 if you have the frequency range set to large, but let's assume it's set to small. Now lets say you switch your min depth=0.2 and max depth=0.8, you will hear the same repeating pattern and same sound. The only difference is that you have effectively added a 180 degree phase shit, so the sound starts at a different point, but has the same repeating pattern.

Just so you know what you're doing, with a mathy explanation.

Good song btw!

Applesnitch responds:

Alright! Thanks for the comment! Just curious, but why 3 and a half stars?

You are pretty underrated, this is good stuff. Love the edgy leads and I like the volume gating at 1:29. Using filters on noise is a tried and true method for breaks, and you used it well as transitional sounds.

DevinChin responds:

Thanks man! Glad you like it

Effing beautiful! I love your transitional elements, use of vibrato in chords, and the 'deadmau5-y' leads in the intro, which you still managed to make your own style at the chorus. I love that every section is unique and offers a new sound, as opposed to repeating patterns. The piano at 4:15 was also well done with tasteful accents and sounds dynamic. The title fits very well with the feel of this song (and with the kicks) and I'm really glad I came across your music!

Cursedsnake responds:

:D ew thanks! I really appreciate such effing long comments <3

Wow, that intro was weird as hell. WHICH IS AWESOME! I'm likin the slap bass too and the reverb on the percussion. At the transition at 2:12, I think you should have some transitional element there, whether it be a noise ramp or a crash. Maybe one leading into the transition to give the impression of a 'false-drop' or just a crash out into the next part, or both. This song makes me think of a desert cave kinda. One thing I absolutely love is your methodology, it seems very 'daft-punk' like for you to utilize real recorded elements the way you do with an electronic spin on it. Keep that shit up.

BoredMusic responds:

Awesome! I don't know why, but now i totally hear a desert cave. I love the idea of actually using a rise noise ramp, more for a transition rather than just a bigger drop. good idea.

Love the intro piano, but when the lead comes in at 42s, it sounds kind of atonal (maybe it's just me), make sure you stay in your key with all of you instruments. And the bwaaah chords are very cool sounds, but it sounds like there are some notes in there that are out of key too (once again, maybe just me). I do like the generators you've employed here though, and your percussion is good!

EruptionMusic responds:

Thanks, all the instruments are in key idk what it is. but yea took a while to get those chords down. I guess its the pitch

First of all it is very rare to hear anyone utilize the pan of their sounds in a song and I like how you did that with the intro with the arp, for the transitional snares at 31s and 1:08 and 2:18, sometimes what sounds cool is to ramp a low-pass cutoff filter from low to high, at least in the context of this song I think that would work.

I like it, keep it up!

Miqz responds:

thank you!

I love how you made the 'swoop' effect, and still made it fit with you percussion well. I heard the water droplet, and it went well with the feel of this song. The chill vibe from the harp and the guitar was executed well too especially with the 'spanish strumming' at 2:54.

This deserves more reviews, you got skills.

BoredMusic responds:

Thanks, that is really kind of you to say.

I really like your percussion in this, and the trance-y sections are really pretty. You have some good transitions in here and I actually like the intro, you worked some interesting sounds into your percussion.

Helth responds:

thanks man! yeah i tried some different controversial percussion sounds and transisitions in this one. thanks for your review! <3

I wanted to comment on this for a while. I understand that you didn't use a kick intentionally, but if that is the case, you should do something with your low frequencies and fill in that range with something. Ravitex was talking about throwing a side-chain on the track for the main bass you're using here (with a period of 1 beat to fit with the percussion). Throwing a side chain on the master track or percussion track would be kinda weird. Also, the white noise thing he's talking about can be used as a transition into other parts of the song (you can also do this with a reversed cymbal crash leading up to the same cymbal crash, I think the noise thing would work better here though). You have a good song structure here though! And seriously, get the full version so you can save a song, you'll also be able to collaborate with people when you get it.

Applesnitch responds:

Thanks for the review! I am hoping to get the full version soon, I also am still able to collaborate without it though, seeing that I can do it through an mp3 file. I agree that I should have filled in some spots with low frequencies, I should have made the sub louder too. Anyways, thanks!
